The Irish-Moroccan fashion model has come an interesting path. One that shows, that what are often perceived as contradictions, are things that can easily co-exist.
“Elmo”, as his friends call the 23 year old, has spent the last three years studying Computer Science at the Liverpool John Moores University. Computer sciences, a branch that very few will bring in any connection with the glamour of fashion. For Elmokhtar Berrabah, both are part of his life. The student’s career in fashion picked up rather recently, with local success lighting the way beyond the British borders.
Mr. Liverpool City 2020 is not the nerdy stereotype that some might have expected behind his University courses. The proud Irish-Moroccan mix is one of the few chosen brand ambassadors for boohoo man, a global online fashion retailer with its headquarters in the UK. Further, the fashionista starred on ITV’s show ‘Dress To Impress’. An occasion made for the 23-year-old.
Life, Accomplishments, Dreams
The very first time Berrabah considered the fashion industry as a serious career option for himself, was after he found amongst the finalist of a competition for the UK’s number one optical retailer SpecSavers. With his focus still on his studies, he was picked up by an agency looking for models for evens and University shows.
The beginning of a modelling career, that still has lot of boxes to tick, when it comes to Elmokhtar Berrabah’s ideas. The ambitious newcomer is reflecting on his personal passions in life – and besides family, friends and the gym, travelling has always been amongst the things that make him happiest. Travelling, one of the perks of a fashion model’s life. Especially his experiences in the US have stuck with “Elmo”.
